Sweet Thanks Recipients

Our 2010 Sweet Thanks event had two purposes. One was to raise funds to support the work we do with victims of violence. The other was to thank those in our community that go above and beyond to further our mission. While we had many excellent candidates this year, as it was our first opportunity to give awards, we finally decided on these wonderful recipients.

Representing Rechek's Food Pride in Beaver Dam is Brett Rechek as our business/group recipient. Rechek's puts together bags of househould items and groceries based on what our shelter needs are and sells them in the store. Last year, they did this twice, as our food and shelter item donations were low. Their bags got our pantry and supply shelves stocked through this winter with items that we truly needed.

Elaine Mullin is our individual recipient of the 2010 Sweet Thanks award. Elaine was intregal in getting our shelter meditation room set up by assisting curtains, helping to secure a flooring donation and delivering books on domestic violence and sexual assault. Elaine also put us in touch with Knight of Columbus who donated money to address some electrical repairs.

On the far right is Jason Fenske, our volunteer recipient. Jason came to us as a Criminal Justice intern and helped with everything from initial victim meetings to answering the crisis line to yard clean up. He was always willing to do whatever needed to be done and we appreciate his efforts.

Marge Theis attends Sweet Thanks 2010

Our 2010 Sweet Thanks Event was quite a success. Here I am chatting with Marge Theis, the woman that wrote for the initial grant to start PAVE and signed our Articles of Incorporation. We were happy to have her in attendance
